What is "K-iwami"?
Shimane is a place where gods from all over Japan gather. Our company has been selling traditional Japanese kimonos for 80 years since its founding in Iwami, in the western part of Shimane. We want you to know that Shimane also has many wonderful things.
We also want to preserve for future generations the artisanal techniques of "Japanese traditional crafts" that have been involved with kimonos for many years.
The "Kiwami" series of ladies' bags was created with these two ideas in mind.
The fabric is woven from a new lightweight and durable fiber named "Kaminoito®" made from organic raw materials, and is dyed using the Edo Komon® dyeing technique, a masterful Japanese craftsmanship that has also been adopted for the emblem of the Tokyo Olympics to be held in 2021.
Japan still has many wonderful things that it can be proud of. The new and innovative "K-iwami" bags are the result of a collaboration between new technology and traditional techniques. Please enjoy making your own bag.
Brand Concept
The joy of carrying around handicrafts
The brand places value on two points: the lightness of the fabric made from "Kaminoito®" and the "passion, technique, and tradition" that are embodied in the product. A luxury Western-style women's bag that is the culmination of the ultimate technique, "ALL MADE IN JAPAN".
Brand Name

Kiwami
The western part of Shimane Prefecture, the land of fate, is called "Iwami."
According to mythology and legend, when Izumo and Iwami were one country long ago, divine soldiers gathered together like clouds in an attempt to conquer the country, and that is why the country was named Ihami.
Our company in Iwami has woven fabric with the spinning company's lightweight fiber "Kaminoito®," dyed it using the traditional craft technique of "Edo Komon®," and then our experienced bag craftsmen have finished it into a new style of ladies' bag.
