Our commitment to "Kaminoito®"

"Light as the wind" material makes "ultra-light" bag

The natural paper fiber "Kaminoito®" was developed with cutting-edge technology based on the traditional Japanese technique of "making thread from paper." The natural paper fiber "Kaminoito®" woven into the ultra-lightweight fabric was developed by Oji Fiber Co., Ltd., a textile company, and then blended with other fibers by Murataya, a kimono store in Shimane Prefecture, to create an original fiber that is light, strong, and smooth to the touch.

We have succeeded in dyeing the ultra-lightweight fabric containing "Kaminoito®" using the traditional Tokyo technique of "Edo Komon®". Using ultra-lightweight fabric woven with this new material "Kaminoito®", we have created an unprecedented "lightweight luxury western-style ladies bag". The encounter between the new material and traditional crafts creates new value.

Oji Fiber Co., Ltd.

Excellent properties

Long, continuous fibers like silk are called filaments, and several dozen single threads (single fibers) are twisted together to make a single thread.

Filament yarn has a beautiful luster and is smooth and durable. Because the fibers contain a lot of air, it is lightweight, has excellent heat retention, and is highly water-resistant.

Environmentally friendly "comfortable fiber material"

The raw material we use, three-year-old Manila hemp (mainly produced in Ecuador), is an environmentally friendly natural fiber that grows quickly and does not produce harmful substances even when incinerated.

In addition, the "Paper Yarn" we use has been decomposed and tested for harmful substances that have adverse effects on the human body, and its safety has been certified according to international standards (Oeko-Tex Standard 100 (Level I)).

  • Ultra-lightweight fiber "Kaminoito®"

At the time of development, the fabric was woven with Kaminoito®, an ultra-lightweight fiber produced by a spinning company in Izumo. The material is highly breathable, absorbent, quick-drying, and durable, and has deodorizing and antibacterial properties and a cooling effect to the touch, making it a material that can be used for a long time.
